Using your template

Everything specific to a template is in its own Start here section. This page covers the Notion basics they all share.

Get the template into your workspace

  1. Open the link from your purchase email (or your member downloads).
  2. Click Duplicate in the top-right corner and pick your workspace.
  3. Not signed in to Notion? Create a free account first - every template works on the free plan.
  4. The copy is yours: edit, rename or move it like any other page.

Your first five minutes

  1. Open the template and read the Start here section at the top.
  2. Change one example row in the first database into a real one of yours.
  3. Run the first routine once (it is listed in Start here), then scroll to the Dashboard - totals and follow-up lists update by themselves.

Clear the example data

  1. Open a database (click its title to open it full page).
  2. Tick the checkbox next to the first row, then shift-click the last row to select them all.
  3. Press Delete (or Backspace). Repeat for each database.
  4. Tip: keep one example row until you have added your own - it shows what each field expects.

Remove parts you do not need

  1. Start here lists the core databases (other parts calculate from them - keep these) and the optional ones.
  2. Delete an optional database from the page: its link column disappears from the others and nothing else breaks.
  3. Deleted something by mistake? Notion keeps it in Trash for 30 days.

Add more modules

  1. Grab the free Everyday Modules template (inbox, tasks, habits, journal and more).
  2. Drag a module's database into your template page, or use Move to.
  3. Members can also bring a database over from another template they downloaded.

Currency and date format

  1. Money fields default to US dollars. Click a money column's header → Edit property → Number format, and pick your currency.
  2. Date format and week start follow your Notion settings: Settings → Language & region.

Use it on your phone

  1. Install the Notion app and open the template from your sidebar - Favorite it for one-tap access.
  2. Dashboard views are kept to a few columns so they stay readable on a phone.
  3. Boards and lists work best on mobile; switch a view's layout from its ••• menu if you prefer.
